Tangos was founded in 2009 as one of the first online stores of Argentine tango clothing and footwear owing to the growing demand for our products, we also opened a store in our laboratory located in Lammari, to give our customers the opportunity to see, touch and try our handcrafted items. Over the years, the influx of customers and dancers of all kinds gived the owner, Tiziana, the opportunity to expand her business not only to tango but also to standard dances, Latin and Caribbean dances, pole dance, clothing and footwear for ceremonies. Anna Ptichkins Project Founder - since 2012 I have been working as a material specialist in the clothing industry - in 2019 graduated with honors from the British Higher School of Art and Design with a degree in fashion design I remember how I came to the tango school, it was in the spring of 2012. At that moment I was working on my diploma at the university and I really wanted to be distracted, my heart asked for beauty. First I was conquered by the tango shoes, and then the tango wardrobe. My motto is "why dance tango if you don't dress up and get high?" In 2017, my first dance collection was presented at my native tango school elcentro. Since then, I have sewn more than 500 dresses and continue to do what I love.  The main values of Tango UNO DRESS for me have always been quality, elegance and minimalism in style. Pepitango is a brand born from the passion and experience of designer Cristina Balestreri Cristina Balestreri is a classical musician, fashion designer and tango dancer – who in 2001 created the firm PEPISTUDIO, a workshop devoted to Florentine embroidery. Later in 2003, she designed and developed the brand PEPITANGO distributing the first Italian/ European line of garments for women entirely devoted to Argentine tango. From one tango lover to another! When I went to my first milonga, wearing jeans and dance sneakers, I felt a bit out of place… At the same time, as a beginner, I spent most of it admiring other tangueras: they had amazing tango shoes (I immediately decided my tango sneakers would no longer accompany me to a second milonga) and wore tango clothes that really complemented their moves. From then on, whenever I saw an item in a store that resembled me of a tango move, I could not resist to buy it. Unfortunately (or not! ;), sometime after, that was no longer enough for me so, as soon as I started to sew, my very first pieces were tango ones. Inspiration My most important inspirations are fabrics, all music that one can dance tango to and by women’s movements on the dance floor. The team I’m a one-woman show: I design my own patterns and choose the fabrics I use based on their quality, movement and beauty - some of my favorites are silk, chiffon, satin and velvet.
